Delivery Schedule Update

Delivery Calendar

Our delivery/collection schedule operates on a week commencing basis, if you were to place an order today the following dates are the earliest your order would be available for delivery/collection.

Trussed rafter (roof truss) orders for delivery/collection on week commencing Monday 27th May and easi-joist® (Posi-Joist™, SpaceJoist™, Ecojoist®) orders for delivery/collection on week commencing Monday 27th May.

As always terms and conditions apply, the main one being that you have confirmed the sizes are correct and that your payment has cleared before an order can be manufactured and delivered. Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

  • Debit card (No surcharges) in person or over the phone (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
  • Mastercard Personal - Credit card (surcharge of up to 2.09% applies) in person or over the phone (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
  • Visa Personal - Credit card (surcharge of up to 2.09% applies) in person or over the phone (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
  • Mastercard/Visa Business - Credit card (surcharge of up to 2.09% applies) in person or over the phone (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
  • Cash in person (Delivery usually around 5 working days)
  • Cheque through the post or in person (Can take 5 working days to clear so delivery is usually around 10 working days)
  • Bank transfer (Can take 3 working days to clear so delivery is usually around 5 working days)

The reason we apply a surcharge to credit card transactions is to cover the cost of the commission charges that we have to pay to our credit card terminal provider for those payments made by credit card. For example if a trussed rafter roof package costs £5000.00 and the commission charge is 2.09% we would have to pay the terminal company £104.50, for that one job it may not sound like a lot but when we are supplying hundreds of roof & floor packages that total soon adds up. It is for that reason that we recommend using other payment methods for which Customers are not charged for making payment by such as bank transfer, cheque or debit card.

You can place an enquiry using one of the methods below:

On the Isle of Man we provide this service to MFBP Building Supplies in Douglas and Island Timber & Building Materials Ltd in Ballasalla. (Contact details at bottom of this post)

So why not give them a call or pay them a visit with all the details about your project.  They will then contact us, we will produce a design, and when requested manufacture your roof or floor, we will then ship your order to the docks, were MFBP or Island Timber will then take over and deliver your order to site.

If you don't want to go through one of our partners on the Isle of Man you can of course place you enquiry directly with us and we can arrange for an outside haulier to collect your order from our factory and deliver it to your site on the Isle of Man.  Please note however that delivery costs to the Isle of Man are beyond our control and are set by the outside haulier.

One of the biggest projects on the Isle of Man that we have been involved with was for the Isle of Man Government in 2002, we designed and manufactured the roof's for the Southern Group Health Practice and the Ambulance Station both of which are located in Port Erin.  Combined the two buildings consisted of well over 1000 trussed rafters, as well as additional infill timbers and metal fixings.  The entire project took about 50 hours in total to manufacture, we broke it up into five phases which were manufactured and delivered over a period of a couple of weeks, mainly because the size of each delivery is restricted to allow it to fit on the ferry but also so that we could continue manufacturing for our other customers as well.

easi-joist Attic Trusses

In recent weeks we have had a number of requests for information about the combined easi-joist and attic room in the roof truss, so I have put together a brief information sheet, which shows one of our most recent easi-joist attic truss designs. The pdf can be downloaded from the ‘downloads‘ page and the ‘easi-joist roofing’ page as well as by clicking on the link below.

Website Update

Today I modified the navigation panel slightly by renaming the ‘Roofing’ section ‘Trussed Rafters’ and the ‘Flooring’ section ‘easi-joist’, I also moved … As I wrote this post I was distracted by a smell of burning and the hallway filling with smoke, it seems my idiot brother put something under the grill and then decided to leave it unattended, disaster averted now back to the topic at hand.

… As I was saying I have also moved the easi-joist Roofing page out of the now ‘Trussed Rafter’ section and into the now ‘easi-joist’ section, I have also updated the breadcrumbs at the top of each page.  I am planning on starting work on a new page for the easi-joist attic truss, I don’t know which section I will  put it in yet because it is both a trussed rafter and an easi-joist, I could always put it in both sections I suppose.  One option would be to put it in the trussed rafter section and then create a link to it from the easi-joist roofing page where some information about the easi-joist attic truss already exists.

easi-joist attic enquiry

Today we supplied our first quotation for the new easi-joist attic truss system from Wolf Systems Ltd, we were recently approached to provide a quotation for an easi-joist attic roof for a large garage with dormers, we sent the job to Wolf Systems Ltd (they supply the design software, the nailplates and easi-joist webs) design office because currently only they can produce the design.  It took about five days but the job landed back on our desks today, so after looking over the job we costed it up and then forwarded the quotation on to the customer, but the job isn’t over because we still have to complete the design for the hipped raised-tie trussed rafter roof over a swimming pool.

More information about the easi-joist attic system will be made available during the coming weeks, in the mean time you can find some information in a recent blog post called ‘Introducing easi-attics‘ or by visiting the easi-joist roofing page of our site.

Building the Villa’s the easi-way

Yesterday we completed manufacturing the easi-joist floor for the 9th Villa at Kensington Developments Lytham Quays development, each floor package contains a total of 126 joists ranging in span from around 1.5m to 6m giving a total of 601.1m of joists.

To date we have manufactured a total of 5409.9m of easi-joist for the Lytham Quays site or to put it another way we have manufactured enough easi-joist to cover just over 3 miles if laid end to end.

If you would like to find out more about the Villa Collection at Lytham Quays or view an interactive 3D model (PDF) of the floor or find out more about easi-joist why not visit our main website.

Today two roof trussed rafter packages were delivered, the easi-joist floor packages were delivered back in April, we have also begun manufacturing a further easi-joist floor package bringing the total of villa’s in progress to nine. Today we delivered a further two easi-joist floor packages, 126 easi-joists per Villa, to Kensington Development’s Lytham Quays Villa’s development, bringing the total so far to eight out of sixteen Villas. Also part of the delivery were two attic roof’s which are for the garages for the first two villa’s which were delivered back in October.

A new feature on this website is the ability to view interactive 3D PDF’s, you can open the PDF of the easi-joist floors used on the Villa’s by clicking on the image.

Kensington Villa The Downham 3D Roof & Floor

In early October E & H Baxendale Ltd supplied a complete easi-joist floor and roof package for the prestigious Villas at Kensington Developments Lytham Quays development. By the end of 2008 we had supplied 6 easi-joist floor packages and 4 roof packages for the development.

Today we delivered the first of 2 further Villa roof packages which Kensington Developments ordered in November. This leaves 10 further villas still to be built on site, with each villa containing approximately 100 joists each as well as a large number of roof trusses and infill timbers.

Given the current economic climate Kensington Developments along with many house builders are currently only building to order, so as of yet we don’t know when the next orders will be placed.
