easi-joist sizes and prices

Today we have updated the easi-joist section of our website to combine most of the information onto just the main page, rather than having half a dozen, which should now make it easier to find the information you are looking for. To make room for all this information on just the one page we have introduced a new full width page template which has done away with the sidebar, which only contained our twitter feed anyway, so that's no great loss.

In the coming months Wolf System Ltd will be producing technical information regarding the use of easi-joist as a stud wall in timber frame construction, as soon as that is released I will add it to the easi-joist Walls section of the easi-joist page.

The one thing that everyone hopes to find is an easi-joist price list, unfortunately we are unable to produce one, that's because easi-joist is available in multiple lengths, widths, depths and internal web configurations, as well as with multiple end support conditions, so producing a list that is easy to read and understand is near impossible. It is for these reasons that we have put together an online easi-joist enquiry form, which will allow you to enter multiple joist lengths and quantities and once we have received it we will send you the quotation as soon as possible.

Custom easi-joist Design

Today we produced a quotation for over 250 custom designed easi-joist 354mm deep, 47mm wide using a WS250 metal strut. The standard easi-joist depths are are 195mm, 219mm, 254mm, 304mm, and 417mm.

The joists have been designed to sit alongside the existing solid joists to strengthen the floor structure to allow it to be used for storage and retail use which has an imposed (live) load of 4800N/m2.

easi-joist stair loads

One problem we face when designing an easi-joist floor is lack of information about stairs, plans often show stairs but rarely provide enough information to enable us to provide an accurate design and quotation.  To help our customers provide us with the information we need to determine the loads to apply to the easi-joist we have put together an information sheet which along with two diagrams explains which dimensions we require to provide the most accurate quotation and design possible.

The ‘Dimensions Required for Stair Loads’ information sheet is available to download from the Downloads and easi-joist enquiry pages.

easi Does It!

Over the past seven months we have seen the number of enquiries about easi-joist double compared with the same period last year, it seems more and more people are beginning to see the advantages of the open web floor joist system and are choosing to incorporate it into their designs.  Also since the post about the easi-joist attic truss was published a few weeks ago now we have had some positive interest in the product, the easi-joist attic for those who haven’t read the post is an attic or room in the roof trussed rafter with an easi-joist built into the bottom chord (the ceiling tie).

To find out more about easi-joist visit the flooring section of our website, and to find out more about the easi-joist attic truss you can either view the original post or you can visit the easi-joist roofing page of our website.

Building the villa’s the easi-way

Today we delivered the easi-joist floor package and trussed rafter roof package for another Kensington Developments Villa, bringing the total delivered so far to 9.  We actually visited the site to measure up for the next set of garages, and whilst we were there, we found out that the first two villa’s which are nearing completion are to be handed to over to their owners in four weeks time.

Building the Villa’s the easi-way

Yesterday we completed manufacturing the easi-joist floor for the 9th Villa at Kensington Developments Lytham Quays development, each floor package contains a total of 126 joists ranging in span from around 1.5m to 6m giving a total of 601.1m of joists.

To date we have manufactured a total of 5409.9m of easi-joist for the Lytham Quays site or to put it another way we have manufactured enough easi-joist to cover just over 3 miles if laid end to end.

easi-joist Span Tables Updated

Wolf Systems Ltd recently began manufacturing their own metal webs for the easi-joist system, these new webs are much stronger than the original multistrut web, so I have updated the easi-joist span table with the new maximum spans which take into account the new design values for the easi-joist metal webs. The new easi-joist metal webs are stronger meaning that approximately 15 to 20% less webs can be used to achieve the same span as with the old webs or that for the same number of webs the span can be extended. To find out more visit the easi-joist sizes page.
