With all the changes I have made to the code over recent weeks, one thing I had forgot about was keeping the code valid, until that is Tony the managing director was having a look at the site and clicked on the valid xhtml button at the bottom of one of the pages and it failed. So after 10 minutes testing each page and making a few small changes to the code the site is once again xhtml 1.0 valid, it seems that as I was removing old code I left the odd tag behind which didn't affect the site in the latest browsers but could have caused a few problems with older browsers.
Our Terms and Conditions of Sale have been updated, and a few minor coding errors on some of the other pages have also been updated, so once again the site is XHTML 1.0 Valid.
Since last week the site has undergone a bit of a face lift, the page layout has been put into a style sheet which has dramatically reduced the size of each page, the rounded page corners have also gone, a grey border has been added, and the page footers now have a background. Each page also now displays the date it was last updated.
Also each page has been tested using the W3C XHTML and CSS validators and as you can now see displayed in the page footers they passed. I will also be updating the Cullen Metalwork page over the next few weeks to include some of the new items that are now available, I am also hoping to include an easi-joist online enquiry form, although I may leave that one for our work experience student to help out with.
